DJ Pauly D Is aware of A Factor Or Two About Gel

DJ Pauly D Knows A Thing Or Two About Gel

The year is 2009. Obama is President. Taylor Swift just released Fearless. Everyone plays Farmville on Facebook. Jacob and Isabella top the baby name charts. And Jersey Shore, a reality show that follows eight guys and gals getting messy drunk, producing smelly Cologne clouds and slowly nursing future melanomas, is an MTV hit.

Of course, I watched, mainly to discuss succession with a family friend I thought was cute. (A few years later we went on a frozen yogurt date and made out in his parked car. The cornerstone I’m sure of was our mutual interest in TV junk.) Despite the fact that the cast was from Jersey Shore lived like a clumsy association with brothers, each with oddly regulated grooming: they were tanned, tinted, and hairless like Sphynx cats, except for the hair on their heads that pinned them into bizarre silhouettes. Particularly noteworthy was DJ Pauly D’s prickly doings – I tried repeating it on my younger brother once, using enough gel to allow a baseball cap to float delicately over plasticized hair.

After Shore, DJ Pauly D (who may or may not be a practicing DJ) was the first performer to get his own spin-off and later appeared on three different dating shows. He’s never given up his signature hairstyle, so I shouldn’t have been surprised to learn that he is making its way into the brand goop a decade later. A few days ago I received an email advising me that Pauly D’s limited collaboration with Göt2b, who repeatedly referred to as Glued Styling Spiking Glue, was back in stock on Amazon. When I felt the urgent tone of the email, I shared the news immediately.

Suddenly my Instagram DMs were flooded. It turns out that not only did the gel hold Pauly D’s famous spikes in place, but it was also one of those niche beauty hacks that you come across only once in a blue mascara. My friend Kira, a makeup artist I met at Aesthetics School, shared that “this bad boy is made to party” when it comes to brushing browbones. “But the nail in the coffin was a recommendation from MUA Mollie Gloss, whose opinion on make-up I trust like a gospel:” It’s the best brow gel ever, “she wrote,” better than soap because it actually stays. ”

To give your eyebrows the signature Pauly D treatment, apply a bit of gel to a spoolie and pull the hair up. That’s it! But be aware, if you suddenly demand vodka shots and a trip to karma, wash yourself off right away.

“But Oshinsky.”
