It’s a new week, which means there are a number of new Weekly Challenges in Fortnite that need to be crossed off your list. For Season 4, Week 10, the challenge is to catch seven fish in a location called Heart Lake. It’s not marked on the map so you will likely need to be pointing in the right direction.
Fortunately, we have all the details about where to find Heart Lake and how to catch fish there. Here’s how to catch seven fish at Heart Lake in Fortnite.
Where to find Heart Lake
Probably the hardest part of this challenge is finding Heart Lake and getting ready to fish. This location is north of Stark Industries within the great circle of that area. The lake … looks like a heart. If you blink and step back 10 feet or so. Still, start the match of your choice (Squad modes are best so your team can watch your back) and land at the small dock on the north side of the lake, where you’ll find a barrel of fishing line. You are now ready to start fishing.
How to catch fish at Heart Lake
To start fishing, you need to grab a fishing rod. You can find some in a barrel on the dock north of Heart Lake. There are a few other barrels in this area. So walk along the shore and see what you can find. After you’ve grabbed your rod, throw your line with the correct trigger where you will see a school of fish to guarantee a catch. Wait for the controller to vibrate, then press the shutter button again to rewind it.
Keep doing this until all the fish in the school are gone. Try to find another school of fish but if you can’t all you have to do is toss your line in the water and hope for a bite. You’ll almost always get something, but it’s not guaranteed to be a fish if you don’t throw your line at a school. Either way, after you’ve caught all of the fish from a school, you should be close. So keep trying while you are aware of the storm and other players who may also be facing the challenge. Here’s a video of us catching fish at Heart Lake.
Sometimes you get guns or useless items like cans, but hang on and catch seven fish in a few minutes. If you are eliminated before you can win a seven, you can try again in another game. As with most weekly challenges in Fortnite, this one is cumulative, meaning you don’t have to catch all seven in a single game. After your seventh catch, you’ll receive credit for completing the challenge and be rewarded with 25,000 XP.
